The story of this great change in the conception of the history of Earth is not a simple one.
I invite you to consider the evidence below and judge for yourself. These cosmogonies were part of the new emphasis of science in seeking rational explanations of the features of the world. This period was marked by a great deal of field geology rather than grand cosmogonies. It became clear that there had been significant changes in the Earth's topography over time and that these changes could neither be accounted for by natural processes operating during the brief nor by the postulated Noachian flood. The evidence for the Shrouds genuineness has been accumulating now for 40 years. Some readers who have been intrigued, and perhaps impressed, by the body of evidence presented on this site, may wonder why I have included a page on the Shroud of Turin. Most importantly, I only present evidence I find compelling.
